The New Beginnings Class is honoring Katherine Gizzi’s 100th Birthday by having a reception on Sunday, November 24 at 10:00 am in their classroom.  Everyone is invited to attend and wish Katherine a Happy Birthday. Please bring a card celebrating Katherine.​. 

Columbia First United Methodist Church prints are available in the Atrium.

High quality prints of Mildred Hartsfield’s watercolor of the church are now available in the Atrium between services. The first 50 are signed and numbered. These prints are offered for donations to fund FUMC’s Music Ministries’ commissioning of an Anthem honoring our church’s upcoming 200th anniversary. Additional funds raised will go to FUMC’s Scouting Ministries. Please make checks payable to Columbia FUMC with Hartsfield Print in the memo.

Christmas Cards by Local Artists

The Committee for the 200th Anniversary is selling Christmas Cards by local artists.  Cards are $15 a pack and there are 10 cards in each pack with 2 of each image.  Cards are blank on the inside for you to write your special Christmas message.  Proceeds will be used for programs supporting our 200th Anniversary Celebration. A table will be set up this Sunday, November 3 in the Atrium for you to see the different designs and to make your selection.

CHRISTMAS BAGS FOR OUR SHUT-INS

Christmas bags for our shut-ins and those on our caring list will be coming soon to Atrium.  Please share your joy, cards, and small gifts with these loved ones. Bags will be delivered within a few days of Christmas, giving you plenty of time to stuff them full - of the transforming love of Jesus!!

Adopt a star from the TREE OF STARS and share joy this Christmas season with area children who, with few or no gifts under their trees, will not experience the wonder that Christmas should bring to all children. Choose a star from the Atrium or The Method Christmas trees Sunday, November 10 or Sunday, November 17. Pick up a child’s wish list sheet from the table, purchase a gift; wrap and return on Sunday, December 15. We offer a variety of adult small groups/classes on Sunday mornings from 10:00 - 10:45.

FISH
We exist to connect people together in significant relationships, to become more Christ-like, help others come to faith in Christ, and glorify God through service to His Church.
Coffee Talk
We are an informal group of adults, most with children, coming together to study contemporary topics facing Christians, Methodists, and parents. We are focused on connecting with each other through in-depth conversation.
The Well
We are focused on growing closer to God and connecting with one another. We get closer to God through Bible study, accountability, fellowship, and participation in church life. We are growing families investing in community life. We know life can be difficult, so we focus on supporting one another and building relationships.
Friendship
We study the word of God and incorporate that word into our lives while having meaningful fellowship throughout the year.
Covenant Class
Our mission is service, fellowship, and learning. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we aim to know God and share God’s saving love through Christ.
Bruce Strother
Our mission is to: strengthen our relationship with God, apply the Word of God to daily living and share our love of Christ with others.
Seekers
We strive to grow closer to God through a variety of studies from various authors. Our class is focused on an open discussion.
Ayers Whitney Fellowship Class
This is the oldest continuing Sunday School class at FUMC. Our class is very fortunate to have wonderful teachers, who add so much to our study. We love to have a good time when we are together, including an annual fish fry and Christmas Party. We are a very welcoming group.

Combines current topical discussion with Biblical study and Christian fellowship.
Monday Afternoon Study
Monday at 2:30pm -
This group meets for at least 90 minutes to share in a study and grow in faith. Currently studying Revelation.
Wednesday Morning Study
Wednesday at 10:00am
This group always welcomes new members into their years together. Currently studying Samuel.
Thursday Morning Study
Thursday at 10:00 am
A dynamic group that continues to grow. Currently studying the book “Soul Keeper” by John Ortberg.
Saturday Morning Prayer
Saturday at 7am -
Small group that meets each week to fellowship and pray.
Disciple Bible Studies
Wednesday at 10am and 6pm -
Focused on a comprehensive engagement with the entire biblical text. These groups meet for a total of 24, 90 minute sessions, 12 weeks each on the Old Testament and New Testament. Currently working through Disciple II Fast Track.

Young at Heart
Senior Adults, who are "YOUNG AT HEART," meet every other month for fellowship, fun, food and factual programs. The speakers are always informative and entertaining, the food is always delicious and the atmosphere welcoming.
United Methodist Women
UMW is an organization of approximately one million members whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. They are a community of women committed to mission, (supporting women, children and youth in local, national and global mission areas), to growing spiritually through prayer, Bible studies and spiritual retreats, and to nurturing one another. We welcome any woman who commits herself to engage in mission, study, personal growth and social action.
United Methodist Men
The mission of this organization is to help men to grow in Christ so that others can know Christ. They meet for both fellowship and service opportunities.

Joy Squad
In a Christ-like Spirit, the Joy Squad assists those in need of short-term transportation and light-duty jobs.
Soul Food
This group provides a meal to families who have lost a loved one, either before or after the funeral service.
Loving Hands
This group utilizes their talents to knit or crochet prayer shawls and quilts while fellowshipping together. They have recently begun working on a special project for young women in Africa. If you want to learn to crochet, knit or sew, come join this group. Loving Hands meet each Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm in the Sew and Sews Room.
